ABSTRACT
The development and technique, in this hospital, of administering phenothiazine derivatives to psychiatric patients in single daily doses is described. The types of patient treated by this method are reported together with the criteria used in assessing the results of the treatment. The overall results were 23 very good, 28 good, 29 fair, 5 no change and 1 worse. The incidence of side-effects was found to be low, occurring in 14 per cent. of the patients. These results are discussed together with the possible disadvantages of the methods and the advantages which were found to accrue during the nine months over which the study was conducted.
