ABSTRACT
This study was designed to confirm that elderly patients clinically judged to be suffering from memory disorder show a difficulty in the sequential reproduction of simultaneous stimuli when these take the form of dichotic digits. It was also desired to see if they show a similar impairment in recall when the channels of simultaneous stimulation comprise different sense modalities. Two groups of 15 elderly psychiatric patients, one group of patients with memory disorder and one group without, were tested. The results obtained in general confirmed expectations.
