The occurrence of depersonalization phenomena has been studied in three groups of patients:
(a) Manic depressives with normal personality.
(b) Depression and insecure personality.
(c) Insecure personality.
There appears to be a high incidence of depersonalization in those cases showing a combination of depression and insecure personality.
The findings are discussed briefly in relation to some of the recent viewpoints.
