The Psychiatric Service at Birmingham University

One hundred and nineteen undergraduates and 27 postgraduates were referred for treatment during the first two years of a psychiatric service at Birmingham University. The diagnoses, results of treatment and academic achievements of these patients are discussed. Significantly more students were referred for treatment from the Arts Faculty and the Medical Department.
