The clinical history of a girl who attempted suicide because of the defection of a boy friend, to whom she was subsequently reconciled, is presented. The results of repertory grid testing of both the girl and the boy on two occasions provide some explanation of the suicidal act in both intrapsychic and interpersonal terms.
