ABSTRACT
Summary and Conclusion:
The intelligence of the non-institutionalized epileptics ofmilitary age (approx. 18 to 40) was tested by the Canadian ArmyRevised Examination "M."
It was found that their intelligencewas only slightly lowerthan that of the general population, but significantly so. Thislower intelligence was not reflectedin an increase of mentaldefectives (defined by the standard,"intelligence insufficientto absorb full military training").hen the factor of lowerinteffigence level was discounted, itappeared that the epilepticsdid relatively poorly on the figureconfiguration test. In viewof other findings in the literature this was not consideredvery significant.
The incidenceof non-institutionalized male epileptics of militaryage inMilitary District No. 2 is ·39 per cent.
