ABSTRACT
An account is given of a method of shock treatment using photic and chemical stimulation.
Full convulsions do not appear to be necessary for a full therapeutic effect.
Myoclonus is suggested as a clinical indicator in place of E.E.G. control.
Results so far bear favourable comparison with E.C.T. although further investigation is required to support this conclusion.
Received for publication April 22, 1950.
