In earlier papers we have shown that ataraxic drugs whose main point of attack lies in the hypothalamic area are able to evoke endocrine effects (1, 2, 3). These are obviously the result of depression of the reticular formation and hypothalamic centres responsible for the anterior pituitary's endocrine activity.
