L. G. Kiloh, J. P. Child, G. Latner

In a controlled trial carried out to evaluate the effect of iproniazid on endogenous depression the drug was shown to have a beneficial effect on 54 per cent. of the cases treated. This result was intermediate between the effects of a placebo, on which 11 per cent. of cases improved, and E.C.T., as a result of which 89 per cent. achieved a good result.
