The Value of E.C.T. in Delirium

A. H. ROBERTS

Abstract

1. Nine cases are presented illustrating the use of E.C.T. as an aid to management where severe delirium complicates organic illness.

2. The literature is briefly reviewed.

3. E.C.T. appears to be a safe and effective empirical treatment where the nature of the associated organic condition is known and is not itself a contra-indication.
