Dysmorphophobia

Extract

Patients are occasionally referred to a psychiatrist with the primary complaint of a cosmetic defect in their appearance, and in a previous communication 45 such patients, dissatisfied with their noses and requesting cosmetic surgery, were studied (Hay, in press).
